How far in advance should I book?  I recommend that you book at least 2 days in advance.

How many people can go on a tour? For the best experience I prefer to take no more than 6 people on a tour. If you have more than 6 people in your group, a discount of 20% will be offered.

What if the tours times don’t work for me? I offer most of my tours in the morning, especially in the summer because it can get quite hot. If the available times do not work for you please contact me and we may be able to schedule a different time of day.

How do I pay?   Payment can be made by any major credit card or with PayPal.  Upon receiving your payment, I will provide you with a confirmation via text.  Your credit card details will be taken when you reserve a tour online. You will be charged for the total trip price if you fail to cancel/ reschedule less than 24 hours before the start of a tour.

What is your cancellation policy? Cancellation requests received within 24 hours of the tour will receive a full refund.

In rare cases, I reserve the right to cancel a trip due to weather, snow or water conditions or other unforeseen circumstances that could be safety concerns.  If one of these things leads to a trip cancellation a full refund will be provided or alternate reservation will be made based on the client's preference.

What if it rains? Most trips will continue rain or shine, but I may contact you about doing something else that is better-suited to the weather than the original activities requested.

What should I bring? I recommend sturdy and comfortable walking boots or shoes, layers (the weather in Montana can change on a dime), rain gear, binoculars and cameras and sunscreen and/or bug spray. Activities like cross-country skiing will have its own set of specialized equipment which I will either provide or list in a confirmation email.

Do you have binoculars or skis to borrow? I have 4 new pairs of Vortex binoculars with harnesses for you to borrow. I also have 2 new pairs of cross country skis to borrow: women’s size 6.5 boot and men’s size 10 boot.

Participant responsibility and waiver of liability

It is the responsibility of you and your group to select the options appropriate for your physical abilities and interests. There are inherent risks involved in any outdoor activity and I would be happy to assist you by providing any additional information you might need about any one of the activities so you can make the best decision for your group.  It is the responsibility of group members to be in good enough health to participate in the trip you have chosen. Participants need to let me know of any medical history that could inhibit their ability to participate in the activities. People with a history of heart trouble or any other potentially serious medical condition should consult their doctor before participating in adventure activities.

Blue Heron Nature Tours LLC is not responsible for things including, but not limited to inclement weather, delays beyond control, personal injury, evacuation costs, loss of articles or belongings or financial loss due to cancellations.

***I will provide you with a full version of a liability waiver to sign in person at the start of your trip.
